About HMWSSB

Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) is the key governmental agency under the Government of Telangana , responsible for managing water supply and sewerage services in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Area . Established in 1989 under the HMWSSB Act, the department ensures sustainable, equitable, and safe distribution of drinking water and effective wastewater management to support the growing needs of urban Hyderabad.

To provide safe, adequate, and affordable water supply and efficient sewerage services to citizens, ensuring public health and environmental protection.
Vision

A sustainable, smart, and inclusive water management system that supports the urban development of Hyderabad as a global city.

HMWSSB Receives Best Management Award on International Labour Day

On the occasion of International Labor Day, celebrated on May 1, 2025, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) was honored with the Best Management Award by the Government of Telangana.

The award was presented by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Sri A. Revanth Reddy Garu, and received on behalf of HMWS&SB by the Managing Director, Sri K. Ashok Reddy Garu, at a ceremony held at Ravindra Bharathi.

This recognition highlights HMWS&SB’s commitment to the welfare and safety of its workforce, as well as its efforts in maintaining harmonious industrial relations.
